Remco Evenepoel

Remco Evenepoel is a Belgian professional road cyclist who was born on January 25, 2000, in Schepdaal, Belgium. He burst onto the cycling scene in 2019 as a neo-pro with the Deceuninck-Quick-Step team and quickly established himself as one of the most promising young talents in the sport.

Evenepoel's background is in junior time trialling, where he won the junior world title in 2018. However, he has shown a remarkable versatility as a professional cyclist, winning races across a range of disciplines including one-day classics, stage races, and time trials.

In his debut season, Evenepoel won the prestigious Clásica San Sebastián and the Tour of Belgium, as well as finishing second overall in the Tour of Poland. He followed that up with an even more impressive 2020 season, winning the Vuelta a Burgos, the Tour de Pologne, and the prestigious Il Lombardia, becoming the youngest-ever winner of the Italian classic.

Unfortunately, Evenepoel's 2020 season was cut short by a serious crash at the Il Lombardia, which left him with a fractured pelvis and months of rehabilitation. Despite the setback, he returned to racing in 2021 and quickly reminded everyone of his talent with a dominant performance in the Tour of the Algarve, winning three stages and the overall title.

Evenepoel is seen as one of the most promising young talents in professional cycling, with a huge amount of potential and a bright future ahead of him. He is known for his aggressive racing style, his impressive time trialling abilities, and his fearlessness on the bike.
